Mythology RPG

I was thinking about a mythology RPG that, while not strictly educational, would be close to the original mythology. It could contain characters from pretty much any polytheistic pantheon (Egyptian, Greco-Roman, Celtic, Norse, etc.) A player would have as many characters as they would want/need. Here's what I've got so far plot-wise. (This is best read with Two Steps From Hell Music. Just saying...)

Plot- Darkness falls across the world as the darkest hour is upon it. In Egypt, Apophis is rising while Greece is facing a resurgence of the Titans with the possibility of Typhon and Echidna rising. The Norse are facing their own problems, as it appears that Ragnarok is approaching quicker than expected and the Celts have to deal with a dreaded army of Fomorians, grotesque monsters. They each send champions to combat the threats, but will they be sufficient? Can the champions even agree which side they want to be on? Much more...can they agree on ANYTHING together? The Greeks consider the Celts and Norse barbarians, the Norse and Greeks each agree that the Celts are untrustworthy, and the Celts are concerned with the Greco-Romans' previous attempts to conquer them.

Traits: Opportunistic, Frugal, somewhat miserly, has an ego the size of Alaska, great swordsman, has a great affection for his mother. When he gets ticked off, he tends to bide his time until he can take revenge.
Marital Status: Divorced
Relatives: Lugh (Stepfather,) Eriu (Mother, Deceased) the Morrigan (Aunt, former Mother in Law,) Brighid (Ex-Wife,) Nuada (Half brother, Deceased) Elatha(Father, unknown,) the Dagda (Half Brother,former father in law,) Ogma (Half brother,) Dian Cecht (Half brother.) Don't worry, they won't all be making an appearance. I'm simply laying out the groundwork here.
Alliance: Right now? The Tuatha De Danann (good guys) of Ireland. He himself is half Fomorian, however the last time he went over to that side... it didn't work out so well for him.

Traits: Loyal, trickster, charismatic, a firm believer in freedom, great leader, and somewhat impulsive. Despite his occasional impulsiveness, though, he's a great chess master, capable of orchestrating large scale events to coincide precisely with his schedule. (For an example, look at what he did to the sons of Tuirrean. He got his revenge, he got some important items that would come in handy, and he barely had to lift a finger while doing it.)
Marital Status: Widower...five times. Considering what happened with his last wife, he's really not that interested in marrying again. Occasional dalliances with mortals are much more fun, anyway.
Relatives: The Dagda (Half Brother,) Nuada (Half Brother, Deceased,) Ogma (Half Brother,) Dian Cecht (Half Brother,) Eriu (Wife, Deceased,) Bres (Step son, much to the chagrin of both,) Cu Chullain (Son, deceased,) Balor (Grandfather, Hopefully deceased,) Cethlenn (Grandmother, unknown,) Ethniu (Mother,) Cian (Father, deceased.) Once again, they probably won't be making an appearance, but it's good to lay the groundwork. This isn't even his full ancestry according to the mythology!
Alliance: Tuatha De Danann. He is half Fomorian like Bres, but has never felt a pull towards them, possibly because they tried to drown him as an infant. Being made king of the Tuatha De Danann has only sealed his alliances further.
